The new collection of paintings by the artist Anita Familje ELEMENTS is aimed at thematic depiction of natural phenomens and elements through portraiture.
Style: hyperrealism. The paintings are made in a single format, with a focus on the depicted object.
The author shows 4 main elements:
FIRE — through the passion that permeates the girl in her entire facial expression, burning volcanic lava flows down her shoulder, and behind her, perhaps burned by it, a blazing forest;
WATER — through the calm expression of the face, either of an iceberg girl or a pacified lady;
EARTH — through a strong, heartbroken man, who, like a rock, rises above the earth, and LIGHT AIR, like a graceful horse, reaching for the rainbow in the sky. In addition to these main elements, the author touches on the theme of rain, thunderstorms, which reflect the psycho-emotional state of a person and his physiological connection: thus, lightning pierces the spine of a girl, reminding us that the most important neurons are in the spinal cord. And the rain, like a gloomy heavyweight, barely noticeable on the canvas, hanging over the clouds, personifies, like rain, transparent strength and power. The mirage with the dissolving girl tells a story about our ideas about human qualities that do not actually exist. The picture makes the viewer think deeply about this. That is why the girl is turned away from the viewer, so as not to give the opportunity to even see her face.
The tsunami and the northern lights are made literally, in a realistic style and attracted the most attention at the vernissage.
